Lots of Fun!

We have had a busy week! Last Saturday we went to the 23rd Sandsculpting Festival on Fort Myers Beach. It was really cool. There was probably a dozen professionals that had been working since thursday night. There were also a few amatures. Bridget thought they were all so funny and I think she wanted to go play in the sand!
Wednesday night we went to our first Everblades game! That is the minor league hockey team here in Ft. Myers. It was lots of fun..... Bridget was enthralled by the players. She couldn't figure them out at first, but she was smiling and laughing the whole game!
Friday night we went to the Coconut Festival here in Cape Coral. It was one of the biggest carnivals that I have ever seen. They had lots of rides, games, and food. Friday night was country night and so we got to see Bombshell and James Otto. Bridget's first concert! There were also fireworks..... Bridget couldn't stop staring. Her eyes lit up and got bigger with each boom!
Today grandma and grandpa Preston came over for the day and we went to the Boat Show. Bridget got and played with her first balloon. Boy did she think that was the best thing in the world! What a great week! Now it's time to rest up for our trip to MI this weekend!

Trick or Treat!

Bridget's 1st Halloween was a blast! We went over to Boca to visit grandma and grandpa. Friday night Alex and I went with Jason and Andrea to an adult Halloween party. Lots of fun! Then Saturday evening we went with the Reid family to have some food and then take the kids trick or treating. They were so cute! Xavier and Max were Pirates and Bridget was a Shark! She was all for going up to the house and grabbing for the candy when offered. It was super cute and mommy got some candy! Also grandma made some cookies to take...... they were bats and Sharks!!

Atlanta!

Two weekends ago we decided to head up to Atlanta to visit Shane and Bryan. It was lots of fun and pretty good weather too. We even went to the Georgia Aquarium on Saturday! Bridget LOVED it!! (even though she slept through part of it) They have a huge tank with 3 Whale Sharks and tons of other fish in it. It was amazing! They also have a petting pool with Bonnethead Sharks, and 2 kinds of Stingrays (de-stingered of course). The stingrays kept coming right up to where Bridget was looking over the side and like flapping out of the water. She kept reaching for them, so I leaned her over the edge to possibly touch one. She stuck her hand right down there and touched them, twice!! Such a daredevil baby!
Saturday night we went to this really good BBQ restaurant called Swallow at the Hallow. If you are ever in ATL and feel like some BBQ.... you need to look this place up! Alex and Shane thought it was the best BBQ ever! All in all it was a really good visit and we can't wait to go back soon! =)

6 Months!

I can't believe that Bridget is 6 months old today!! It seems like yesterday we were just bringing her home from the hospital. She is getting so big too fast! She is sitting up so well now. She plays with her toys for longer periods of time and laughs at everything daddy does! This weekend we are going up to Atlanta to visit Shane, Katie, Bryan, and Katherine. I think we may go to the aquarium.... I can't wait to see how much Bridget loves watching the fish in the huge tanks! Lots of pics will be taken and posted. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

It has been too long since I have updated! Things have been going well. Bridget is almost 6 months old already!!! The time has flown by. She is sitting up pretty well now.... she still tips over if she tries to reach something to the side of her though. =) She has also been trying all kinds of new foods and loving everyone of them. Peaches, bananas, pears, sweet potatoes, squash, etc. Things are getting exciting!

Milestone Weekend!

This past weekend Bridget turned 4 months old! We also ventured over to Boca Raton for Max's 1st Birthday Party!! Everyone is growing sooo fast! I can't believe how big they are. The party was so fun and it was great seeing the Reids again. It is crazy to think that it was a couple days before Max's sip n see that I found out we were going to have Lil B.... how time flies!

Vacation Time!

We just got back from vacation! We spent a week and a half on Mackinac Island with Alex's family, then Bridget and I spent a few extra days in Flint with my family while Alex had to come back and work. Overall it was a good time! We had some pretty nice weather on the island, which we were told it has been a very cold summer so I was thankful that we had some nice days. Bridget was GREAT!! She loved riding in her cart behind the bikes (for the most part) and she was fascinated by the horses. We took a lot of bike rides all over the island, a couple boat rides, had lots of good dinners at the house and in town, went on a hayride, and even went to the Grand pool. Bridget showed up all the other kids swimming, of course. =) It was a good time, but I am glad to be home now..... until we decide to just hop a plane and go back up there in a couple weeks. haha

Swimming!

We FINALLY went to the pool this past weekend and had so much fun! We figured out to put the umbrella at the edge of the kiddie pool so Bridget could stay in and be shaded. It worked great! We were there for about 3 hours and she was in the water for about 2 of those. (laughing and smiling the whole time.) Talk about a water baby!! I can't wait to go back. Plus I got to be in the water too.... thus making it a bareable 94 degree day. We might just have to take Xavey and Max there this weekend, if it's too hot for the boat. =)

Looking Forward...

I can't wait to head up to Michigan for the 3rd time this summer! We are going and spending 4th of July with my family at my grandparent's, just like we did ever summer growing up! I think miss Bridget might have to have her first taste of ice cream at the ice cream place.... another thing I am super excited for.
This past weekend we went to the yacht club beach for a little while. It was lots of fun! Bridget napped under the umbrella while Alex and I tried to catch a little tan. Then we got in the water for a little splash.
Looking forward to seeing everyone up north soon!! xoxo

Something to Think About

I was going through a drawer in the closet looking for something and found my quote book. (A journal that I only write quotes I love in) I was reading through and thought I would share a few of today's favorites.

"Don't worry 'bout nothin,' let go, see what tomorrow brings. Don't worry 'bout nothin,' Pray about everything."

"A face without freckles is like a sky without stars"

"Life's not about waiting out the storms, but learning to dance in the rain."

"In life as in dance: Grace glides on blistered feet."

"Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out."

"Difficult things take a long time. The impossible takes a little longer."

The Next Top Model?? =)

Last weekend we went up to Michigan again. It was my cousin Kelsey's graduation party and the original date we were going to head up there. Alex's parent's drove down from the island to visit also. It was a great trip! I feel so greatfull that we get the chance to do these weekend trips to see the family. While we were there Aunt Beth did a little photo shoot with Bridget.... all the pics turned out soooo cute! Here are a few. (can't say favorites cause I love them all!)

Surprise!!

Last Friday evening we decided that since it was a long weekend, we wanted to go up to MI and surprise the grandparents! It was a very big weekend for Bridget... she went on her first airplane ride, her first ferry boat ride, and it was her first trip to Mackinac Island! She did great!! Plus she got to meet most of her aunts and uncles and cousins that are up in MI. It was a wonderful trip and we can't wait to get back up there in a couple weeks to see everyone again.

An Afternoon on the Boat

Saturday we decided that we were due for a little boating. Alex and I hadn't been out in roughly 6 weeks.... which is a long time for us. We were going out every weekend and sometimes after work too. So we decided it was time to see how Bridget liked the boat.... and the ocean. She had mixed feelings. =) We tried to put up the umbrella, but when we went any faster than really really slow it tried to blow away. So to shield her from the sun on the ride out to Sanibel (where we anchored) I just had to cover her with a beach towel.... the part she did not care for. Once we could put the umbrella back up, it was a good time! She even got in the water with daddy! She didn't seem scared or fussy so I assume she loved it and will be a little water baby (hopefully). We didn't stay too long, just enough for Alex and I to both get a little burned.... we were too concerned about Bridget getting in the sun and not paying attention to ourselves I guess. Plus it has gotten to the rainy season and we didn't want to get caught in a storm. Oh... but on the way out we saw 2 manatees!!! I was sooo excited... we see Dolphins everytime we go out (not exagerating) but we have never seen Manatees before. We saw a group of dolphins too.

Sleeping Like a Baby....

I never really understood that expression... does it mean that you sleep for a couple hours and then wake up hungry? Or are they talking about how deep babies tend to sleep that you can vacuum and they don't budge? Just something I was thinking about at the 4 am feeding last night.

Bridget is almost 3 weeks old already! I can't believe how much she has changed in that short of time. It's crazy! From day 1 she has been taking everything in with wide eyed splendor, when she is awake, but now you can tell she is focusing more and really getting good looks at stuff. She has also been really strong with picking her head up since the first day, but now she can hold it up longer and turn it more easily. Now that she has gotten the hang of eating... that's all she wants to do it seems like! =) Well enough bragging for one day... Happy *late* Mother's Day to everyone!

Bridget Ann Preston!

So it's been an eventful week.... Bridget Ann Preston decided to arrive 2 days before her due date! She was born Wed April 22, 2009 at 2:54 pm. She was 6 lbs 15.6 oz and 21 inches long. Everything went well and we are both doing perfectly! (Daddy is also doing super... he even changes poopy diapers!) We arrived home friday afternoon and have just been trying to adjust to the new schedule. =) Bridget has been actually sleeping pretty well so far. (now that I have said this, I'm sure it will change) I will post some pictures soon!

8 More Days...

So only 8 more days until the baby is due.... except the doctor said to not get worried if my due date comes and goes with no labor. This makes me think that he isn't expecting the little one to want to come out that soon. Oh well, things aren't unbearable yet. Dr. George did say that I was dilated 1 cm (whoopie!) and the baby was sitting very low.... so we'll see.

I have been so excited about the baby lately, especially on Dr appt days cause I get to hear it and see if I'm any closer to having it. Thinking about the new little life that will be just starting and all the wonderful things that he/she will get to learn and experience. Just this afternoon, after the Doctors, I found out that a guy I was in FA training with passed away. (he had been battling cancer for awhile now.) It really made me take pause and think... one life on the verge of starting while another has just ended. (I won't go on and on and get everyone in a funk.) It just made me really aware of how thankful and blessed I am.

Anyway.... on a lighter note...

Question of the Day:

How come you can kill a deer and mount it on your wall, but it is illegal to keep one as a pet?

Full Moon Tonight....

So yesterday I went to the Dr. for my weekly check up. However, since I am not having contractions he didn't do an internal. So I have nothing new to report. At last weeks appointment I was 50% effaced. (I won't tell you what that means if you don't know.... just that you have to be 100% to actually have the baby.)

Well tonight is a full moon! Maybe baby time?? No I don't feel like it is going to come yet, but they do say you are more likely to have your water break when it is a full moon....

Ultrasound Pics

Getting Ready for Baby Preston!

It's getting close.... baby Preston is due on April 24th! Only 18 days left (hopefully)! =) Things are looking good so far. Yesterday we went and pre-registered at the hospital and took a tour. I have my next appointment on Wed. The baby's room is half done... can't finish it until we know if the baby is a boy or a girl. Speaking of knowing.... we still don't have a boys name picked out. If you have any ideas, we would love to hear it! Take care!!
